Leseliwazi #

Screenshot of Leseli, the UI of Leseliwazi

An app that shines light on your knowledge through an absurdly powerful note taking outliner (Leseli), currently featuring:

  • Full WYSIWYG editor
  • Referencing other nodes and properties
  • Viewing backlinks to other nodes and properties
  • Pinning nodes
  • Multiple graphs/knowledge sets
  • Searching your knowledge base with fuzzy finding
  • Slash Commands

Currently, a lot of is it unimplemented due to time constraints (yay prelims and final exams), but so far, there is a base for:

  • A full outliner
  • Custom extensions which can do anything
    • New properties
    • Custom node renderers (individual bullet points)
    • Custom hooks to integrate and add custom functionality to existing items
  • Custom themes and theme editor (why does NO other note taking app have this)
  • Real time, end-to-end encrypted cloud sync and collaboration powered by yjs and Cursed Hacks (Wazi, the backend/sync server)
  • Realtime SQLite-based queries into your data for dashboards (e.g. see all todos due)

Setup #

Currently, the builds are stored on GitHub as Tangled doesn't have runners for Windows/MacOS. Simply download the appropriate release from https://github.com/Suya1671/leseliwazi/releases/tag/v0.1.0 and run it! All dependencies are bundled in (except for Windows, but if you're running windows 11 or a later version of windows 10 you should be Fine).

Building #

To build Leseliwazi from source, you will need:

In order to run spec checks/tooling for the design token implementation, you will need to install tracey. See their install guide.

Simply clone the repository and run pnpm install. Then run pnpm moon sync to sync up your toolchain and finally pnpm moon run leseli:dev extension:dev to start the main development servers. Check the moonrepo docs for more information on how to use the moon CLI.

License #

Leseliwazi is licensed under the European Union Public License v1.2 (EUPL-1.2), except for some parts of the design token implementation which is under the W3C-20150513 license. Modifications to Leseliwazi itself must remain under the same license, while extensions may be licensed independently, including under proprietary licenses. See the REUSE.toml file for more information on the licensing.
