COSMO #

COSMO is a tool for exploring astronomical data from the Gaia catalog.

Features #

• Local/VizieR data: load your own local CSV file, or a TSV file exported from VizieR.
• Table view: browse the raw data in a table format.
• 2D plot: plot any two columns against each other with fully free axis selection.
• 3D scatter plot: plot any three columns against each other with free axis selection.
• 3D slice tool: move and resize a slice through the 3D scatter to inspect a specific slab of the data.

Local development #

Bun installed on your machine

Roadmap #

• More Filters
• Implement save projects with File System Api
• Detach numeric axis labels from the 3D axes
• Add a new perspective mode with less perspective distortion (less pretty but more scientific)

Known Bugs #

• Some local files generate empty tables
• Zoom in the 2D plot sometimes goes to infinite zoom on a star
• Hover and clicked star colors in the table are applied to the star with index +1
