Everest #

Everest is a social application that allows you to share websites you have stumbled upon. If you are bored, you can find funny websites or interesting media projects. If you want insights on a topic, you can find indie websites and weblogs that may discuss it.

Everest is part of the ATmosphere.

Getting Started #

  1. Run nix dev to create a new shell with the required dependencies.
  2. Run yarn install:tap to install Tap.
  3. Run docker compose -f compose.dev.yml up --build to run the database.
  4. Run yarn tap to start Tap.
    • Repositories are dynamically added by the server.
  5. Run yarn dev to start the development server.
  6. Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser.

Contributing #

Before submitting any changes, ensure that the following steps have been performed:

  1. The code has been linted: yarn lint
    • Many errors and warnings can be fixed with yarn lint --fix.
  2. Any news files have the required license headers: yarn license-headers.
  3. Your commits are signed off (cf. Developer Certificate of Origin).
    • You can do this by adding the --signoff or -s option to git commit (e.g. git commit -s).
    • You can sign off the previous commit with git commit --amend --signoff.
    • You can sign off the last <N> commits with git rebase --signoff HEAD~<N>
