DXF Design #

Electron app for modeling laser-cut sheet-material parts and exporting a DXF cut layout.

Run #

npm install
npm start

Current Capabilities #

  • Add rectangles and regular polygons in a 3D workspace.
  • Generate a six-piece finger-jointed box from width, depth, and height.
  • Configure material thickness, kerf, clearance, finger width, sheet size, and part spacing.
  • Preview the flattened cut layout.
  • Export a millimeter DXF with CUT, LABEL, and SHEET layers.
  • Detect panel contacts in 3D and generate joints only where panels touch.
  • Clip joint runs to the actual overlap when one panel is shorter than the other.
  • Generate matching tab and mortise geometry for edge-to-face contacts.
  • Convert slots that land on an outside edge into open edge cutouts so redundant border/outside slot lines are not exported.
  • Generate push-fit slit cuts where panels pass through each other.
  • Add circular or rectangular holes to individual panels.
  • Toggle joint overlays in the 3D model view to inspect tabs, mortises, and slits before export.
  • Set per-part joint behavior to automatic, no joints, prefer tabs, or prefer slots.

Joint geometry is generated from the current 3D arrangement. Matching slots and slits include kerf and clearance compensation.
