exegit #
A private Git remote with LFS for you and your agents on Exe.dev
They can create repos and push their work to branches using regular git. There's no forge, database, or web UI to maintain. Exe handles token-based auth over the internet, a tagged peer integration enables authless access within Exe's network, and Tailscale enables authless access from any device on your tailnet (subject to ACLs of course).
Installation #
The -data directory must exist before Exegit starts. Its provisioner must
persist the directory and its parent entries to disk before starting Exegit.
The supplied systemd unit uses StateDirectory=exegit to provision
/var/lib/exegit. Exegit synchronizes files and directory entries inside
this storage boundary, but it does not synchronize external ancestors.
Stop the previous server before starting an upgrade. Startup acquires an exclusive storage lock, then removes abandoned temporary uploads and repository staging directories. Versions without this lock must not run concurrently with the upgraded server against the same data directory.
