`wear_to` bisects on plate and then on the frame under it, spread evenly, and takes single points off the thickest location to close the last few - which turns a worst miss of 15 into 5 over a sample of the library. It touches no magazine and shoots nothing out: an empty bin stops being worth anything and stops exploding, so that lever has no direction to bisect on.
