A flare is an app.userinput.discussion written to the signed-in player's own repository, pointing at the board space FLARE_SPACE names (unset: the route answers that flares are not enabled). The space's strongRef is read fresh from its owner's PDS on every flare. A screenshot arrives as base64 PNG, is re-encoded like a camo upload, and rides as the discussion's image. When the body names a match, the sender must fight in it, and a match/arena/build footer is appended server-side - the one claim worth carrying is one only the match table can make.
