Tell the DM a character slug is a name, not a placeholder master

A live session created characters/your-bard/ because the sheet tool's description showed the slug format without saying where the slug comes from. The description now says the slug is the character's own name, lowercased and hyphenated, that it is permanent across the record and every wikilink, and that a character without a name is not ready for a sheet: ask the player, or offer fitting names, before creating.
