Previous commit overshot — papers/**/pals.pdf is the shared author- attribution figure (6027 bytes, included by every paper's .tex). It's a build INPUT, not output. Some entries are symlinks pointing at papers/arxiv-ac/figures/pals.pdf, others are copies; either way, fresh clones need the file at the path each paper's .tex references. Re-add 27 pals.pdf files and add an exception line to .gitignore.
