oskiewar v144: the console spars with a dummy, and the sim stops building poses for things out of reach master
@jeffrey on the Xbox, 2026-09-20: "make it so we can play against dummy as opposed to bot ... the dummy goes away and gets replaced by players". The native empty door now stands a dummy up (the web keeps the bot); a second local controller promotes that chair through updateLocalVersus as before. Phase table on the Series X after v143: updatePowerups 4.4 ms and updateBall 3 ms — the three pickup updaters and the ball built the whole limb tree (runnerContactToPoint / sampleCombatBoxes) for every fighter × pickup pair every tick, with nobody near anything. nearRunner() rejects a point beyond a fighter's reach (300 from ninety above its feet, plus the contact margin; the ball's sweep adds its travel) before the pose build; the exact test still runs inside reach. Sim 10.5 → 4.7 ms. The terrain passes also read a thinned draw-only profile (terrainDrawProfile, 1 world unit of chord tolerance; terrainProfile keeps every sampled height for physics and the fidelity test): terrain 7.2 → 4.2 ms. Title screen hostJsMs 27 → 18.8 ms (49 fps, wordmark included); a fight pays ~3 ms less than that. The phase profiler gained finer sim marks. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
