WHISTLEGRAPH_RETRY_ON_LAUNCH=1 on a debug launch (xcrun devicectl … launch --environment-variables) tries the in-flight request again from a Mac, once per workspace session on the first paint, so a stuck request can be pushed through without touching the phone. The 20-second 'Preview still loading' status is gone from the phase line; the console keeps the note and the engine keeps waiting.
