From bb80cfea61ef1747413e3c49b06381f9560fcae8 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: zzstoatzz Date: Thu, 30 Jul 2026 05:40:17 -0500 Subject: [PATCH] docs: the bootstrap audit's basis commit does not exist bootstrap-semantic-parity.md recorded its Stream basis as a345f4054df568e364aff08a9b1726275fc48e29. That object is not in this repository -- git cat-file cannot resolve it and no ref contains it -- so the audit basis is unreproducible. The trailing "plus the discovery changes and audit updates in this commit" compounded it: read at any later commit, "this commit" names nothing. Recorded what is knowable instead: the file's own git history, last substantively updated by 4f15a19 (2026-07-25), with git log on the file as the authority. Also notes that experiment 6 deployed 29705cb and semantic-parity.md is based on eb95c14, so all three disagree. Deliberately does NOT substitute a plausible hash. Replacing an unresolvable basis with a commit nobody audited would launder an unknown into a citation -- the failure semantic-parity.md opens by forbidding, and the same call made for that file's own stale basis last pass. 4f15a19's title was "fix two rotted audits", so this class of rot is recurring and worth flagging rather than quietly papering over.
