Comic Neue, vendored #
The two weights the site's headings are set in, taken verbatim from upstream rather than subsetted or regenerated:

2026-09-02. Comic Neue is by Craig Rozynski, under the SIL Open Font
License 1.1 — OFL.txt is that licence, and it is the reason these files
can be here at all. It is a separate grant from atgc's own MIT/Apache-2.0,
and it travels with the files: keep OFL.txt beside them.
Why a file and not a link #
The site makes no external request, so there is no font CDN to ask. The
faces are inlined into the page as data: URIs by html::site, which
means they are also compiled into the binary — 43 KB, once, for the one
command that builds a web page.
Why not subsetted #
A subset is a generated artifact, and regenerating it would need a font
toolchain nobody here has pinned. 43 KB of upstream bytes that anybody can
diff against the release is worth more than 15 KB that only one machine
knows how to reproduce. If that trade ever stops being worth it, subset
with a script in scripts/, the way the lexicons are vendored.
