+# Racksnaps Watcher
+
+This service is responsible for polling the Racksnaps website for new catalog snapshots and publishing the initial top-level `space.notjack.thunderstorm.catalogSnapshot` records, one for each snapshot. This is the bridge between Racksnaps and the atproto world, and it's responsible for kickstarting the rest of Thunderstorm into motion.
