A local-first note taking app

Textile #
Textile is a local-first note taking app, similar to Obsidian. The core product gives users a vault on their local machine with all of their notes.
Unlike Obsidian, Textile is built on top of CRDTs as a syncing primitive, allowing for easy collaborative editing across devices.
Product Tenets #
- Frictionless access: the biggest blocker to daily note taking is often the overhead of switching applications to the notes app, and then opening a new one. The smaller this loop is, the better
- Performance: Every experience, and especially the editor, must be smooth like butter. The mental stalling caused by fraction of a second wait times is enough to diminish this product.
- The user should live inside Textile. If Textile is the home base, then the principle of frictionless access becomes even easier to uphold.
