CES 2016: Sony MPCL1 + Ford HUD #
Date: 2016-01-06 From: Walt Scudder → Roger Collamati Subject: MVIS - CES
Walt's CES preview. He and Tricia gave Jeffrey a Sony MPCL1 pico projector (using MicroVision engine) for Christmas 2015.
Products at CES Using MVIS Tech #
- Sony MPCL1 — pico projector prominently displayed in Sony's exhibit
- Celluon PicoPro & PicoAir — smartphone-sized portable projectors ($299–$450)
- Ford HUD — heads-up display partnership with MicroVision
"Don't know if MVIS will get any wide coverage at CES in next few days — I still think they are bound by non disclosure agreements from revealing who they are working with."
Significance #
MVIS tech was present at CES through partners (Sony, Celluon, Ford) even though MicroVision itself didn't have a prominent booth — the "embedded everywhere, named nowhere" pattern that would define the next decade.
